Stem cell biology, cancer plasticity and therapeutic potential
April 25, 2023 - April 26, 2023 • Virtual Event (accessible worldwide), Any Location (Virtual Event)
Organizer:
European Association for Research on Cancer (EACR)
Abstract:
This virtual conference will present recent advances in tissue stem cell biology and the connection to cancer heterogeneity and plasticity. Using a variety of experimental model systems, the conference will provide a holistic view of the molecular programs of cellular plasticity (both intrinsic cellular and microenvironment) that drive healthy stem cell functions as well as cancer growth. Greater knowledge of the trunk's abnormal behavior has the potential for new therapeutic interventions against cancer. Key topics include the fundamentals of tissue stem cell biology, stem cell niches and aging, and drivers of cell plasticity in cancer.

2nd Conference on Nicoepithelial Stem Cell Interactions in Lung Health and Diseases
05. October 2023 - 08. October 2023 • Dubrovnik, Croatia
Organizer:
Fusion conferences
Abstract:
The various epithelial stem/progenitor cells identified to date in different regions of the lung interact with specific stromal and physical/mechanical niches. Some of these niches have recently been characterized. These niches determine the quiescence of epithelial stem/progenitor cells and their reentry into the cell cycle and subsequent differentiation. The mesenchyme that gives rise to various stromal cell niches has been poorly studied during development, homeostasis, injury/repair, and disease progression. Likewise, research into the effects of the physical/mechanical properties of their local environment on stem cells is just beginning.
Subjects:
Stem cell niches in lung development, stem cell niches in lung homeostasis and repair, dissection of niche regulation in lung cancer, characterization of epithelial and mesenchymal progenitor cell populations

I Congress of Spermatogenesis — Male germ cells: from stem cells to disease
8. October 2023 - 11. October 2023 • Dubrovnik, Croatia
Organizer:
Fusion conferences
Abstract:
The germline represents an eternal cellular link between generations and is the source of genetic diversity and evolution in animal populations. In addition, disturbances in the epigenome or genome of a parental germline occurring during development may be underlying causes of many disease states in offspring. In males, sperm are the conduit for the transmission of genetic and epigenetic information for the next generation and are formed through the complex process of spermatogenesis, which includes undifferentiated stem cells, phases of differentiation, meiosis, and morphogenesis. This workshop will examine recent advances in understanding the biology of these different stages in a variety of animal models, as well as how genetic and epigenetic abnormalities may underlie the transmission of diseases and reproductive disorders in humans. Invited oral and poster sessions focused on innovative discoveries, as well as lively discussions and debates on controversies in the field will create a rich intellectual atmosphere that is sure to have a major impact on how the biology of spermatogenesis is studied in the coming period will be a few years.
