The 2023 National Cooperative Soil Survey Conference will be held July 9-13, 2023 at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, North Dakota. The National Conference meets every two years to discuss and develop solutions to issues related to the National Cooperative Soil Research Program. The theme of this year's conference is"Soils, Energy and Agriculture in Resilient Ecosystems".

Missouri Corridor Tour: Underwood, Mandan and Mackenzie, North Dakota
A day full of activities! Discuss regenerating coal mines and restoring earth pits in wetlands. They were then compared to non-mining soils and landscapes. Experience the Garrison Dam and Lake Sacacavia, and learn about the history of development, energy input, and flood control utilization of the third largest reservoir in the United States. Visit the USDA-ARS Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory in Mandan, where you'll learn about the history, research and partnerships of the 111-year-old research station. Finish the day with dinner at the NCSS Awards Dinner at Black Leg Ranch, owned and operated by the Doan family since 1882. Dedicated to conservation and regenerative agriculture, the ranch has won several state and national environmental stewardship awards, including the first Aldo Leopold Conservation Award.
